coming home

I'm not always sure what home is.... are you?

Really, the place we're most supposed to be is in the presence of God. The most home. The most real. Since the fulfillment of that is simply not an earthly reality, it makes sense that no matter what place we CALL home, it still falls short. We always have a sense that something is missing.

The children of God could call Rome the most home on earth. The place your family and loved ones are could be the most home. Given that, home to me, right now, feels a bit divided.

There are some things I want in my life after being here... that I'm not entirely sure the USA is set up to provide me. Like fresh, straight from the farm produce one block over or natural workout built into my walked commute. I think I'd like to start designing and sewing my own clothes and learn how to grow some of my own food.  I used to think it was crazy to grow your own food w/Meijer down the street. I've changed my mind.

This is going to be a hard transition in some ways. I will miss it here tremendously. But just so you know, I bought a plane ticket today. My flight is confirmed. I will be in Michigan the afternoon of June 28th. <3
