My American Friends

I would just like to take a minute to say... that I really love my friends. Yes, friends, that means you. (and of course, MY FAMILY!) Being in Rome is wonderful - looking out a bus window on your way home and seeing the dome of St. Peter's lit beautifully, rising above the city. Seeing the sun rise over the Tiber. Walking on roads that have existed since the beginning of recorded history... and don't get me wrong, I am enjoying the friends I am making very much. And I already know that I'll miss THEM when the time comes for me to leave... but really, I have wonderful friends. I am so thankful, so grateful for all of you. We share humor, faith, depth of relationship, joy, time... we are truly truly blessed. Time apart brings that into sharp focus. Know that I miss you and care for you deeply and keep you always in my prayers. It will be a joy to return home when the time for that comes!
